Summer's Here
Paris, France
May, 2001

Well, after about a month of rain and cold, today is like summer. Tons of people on the street, the river is packed and all the cafes have their sidewalk tables out. Today I was riding my bike to Versailles and I got a flat about two miles past the Effiel Tower so it took me two hours to walk home. Living at the Bookstore is kind of like living in a train station. The store doesn't close until midnight so no one goes to bed until 1 or 2. Now that its warm, George opens the store at 10:00 AM so everyone has to get up and get out (or work). There is always about 15 people staying at the store. But they really come and go - most people stay for less than a week. Only two guys have benn at the store the whole time I have been there (Ablimit and Steven). They are both really cool and we are good friends. We have a really cool local bar 'Bar Onze' where the beer is cheap and Eddie the bartender takes care of us. Last Thursday I had a Poetry/Music session there and it was great - Our special Guest Sheri D. Wilson was hot - she is a very well known Canadian Author/Poet - I met her at a Tea Party at the bookstore and we became fast friends. Of course I played some songs - mainly new ones I wrote in Morocco. This place is great - the food is cheap (at least where I go) - the rent is free and the sun now shines. I'm not sure how long I will be here for....... Now that the sun is out I'll start taking pictures and will post them soon.

Lates!
